A Craftsman Built a Chainless Bicycle Prototype
Anyone who has ridden a bicycle knows that a chain transmits the driving force from its pedals to the rear wheel, thus propelling it. Most bicycle chains are made of standard carbon steel or alloy steel, but some are nickel-plated to prevent rust or simply for appearance.

Cyclists can be a nuisance from time to time, as most shops charge $15 to $20 to install a chain. But what if there was a bicycle without a chain that worked just as well as the usual chain?
You can see such a bike in action in this video from the brilliant YouTube channel The Q. The YouTuber, known for his many exciting projects, from removing the entire hub from his bike to building airless tyres, shows you how he tackled this project with expertise.
Remember, this is not the first time someone has decided to remove the chains from bicycles altogether. Shaft-drive bikes also use a drive shaft instead of a chain to transmit power from the pedals to the wheel.
The video gives you a good insight into what the DIY process can entail, so get ready and, as always, have fun!
