The World Padel League, the most incredible show on the court, concluded its inaugural season with thrilling matches, star-studded concerts, and a remarkable display of talent. The world’s first league was hosted at Coca-Cola Arena in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Calendar, and Dubai Economy and Tourism.
The league featured 24 top Padel players worldwide and four of the UAE National Team’s top stars, representing franchise teams Jaguars, Panthers, Tigers, and Cheetahs. One of the highlights of the World Padel League was the exceptional prize pool. The league offered a total cash prize of AED 825,000, awarded to the winning teams.
The first-place team – Jaguars – owned by Vernost and led by the world's #1 players Alejandra Salazar Bengoechea and Gemma Triay alongside Carlos Daniel Guterres, Franco Stupaczuk, Jeronimo Gonzalez Luque, Carolina Navarro Björk and Abdullah Abdulaziz Abdullah, took home the prestigious title and a substantial prize of AED 550,000. The award was presented by esteemed dignitaries, including His Excellency Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, Rajesh Banga and Amit Sharma, co-founders of World Padel League.
The runners-up team – Panthers – owned by Ourshopee.com and led by world #1 Agustin Tapia, alongside Arturo Coello, Beatriz Gonzalez, Lucia Sainz, Aranzazu Osoro, Alejandro Ruiz Granados and Fares Aljanahi, showcased exceptional skills throughout the season. Their remarkable performance earned them the second position and a prize of AED 275,000. This esteemed award was presented by the Secretary General of UAE’s Padel Association, Saeed Mohammed Al Marri, Rajesh Banga and Amit Sharma.
Fans were treated to unforgettable concerts featuring renowned international artists alongside the intense matches. The shows included a captivating performance by Simply Red on June 9, an electrifying set by internationally acclaimed EDM artist Nicky Romero on June 10, and an extraordinary evening on June 11 with award-winning Bollywood composer Mithoon and friends.
Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, commented, “This tournament has gained global attention with its strong inception and unique playing system. It features four teams comprising top international players, including our national team stars who have gained valuable experience and achieved championship success. Dubai has become a global hub for racket sports, hosting prestigious world championships and major tournaments in various sports, thanks to its well-organized events, vibrant atmosphere, and diverse fanbase.”
